The Naval Division of Bengawan UV Team focussed its research on USV and ASV. Mainly, researches from Bengawan UV Team is for the purpose of competing in a national or international competition. The research that the team do is on the areas of body parts, propulsion, electronics and programs of a USV or ASV. The research is carried out through the methods of software simulation or direct testing.
The first research conducted by Bengawan UV Team Naval was Electric Remote Control in 2017. ERC is an unmanned ship with a BLDC (Brushless DC) Motor and is moved manually by using a transmitter. The ships that have been built include Mandakini, El-Moana, El-Moana 2.0, El-Moana Medical Ship 3.0, El-Moana EVO, El-Moana HSSV, and El-Moana Amerta.
The second research undertaken was the FERC ship, which uses a 2-stroke internal combustion engine as main propulsion. Using a machine of about 30 cc with great power. This ship is also moved manually using a transmitter. Ships that have been built include Oceanos, Oceanos 2.0, Oceanos 3.0, Oceanos EVO, Oceanos Alpha, and Oceanos Zen.
The third is ASV, which is the same as erc that uses BLDC Motor as its main driver. The difference is that this type of motor uses Thruster to get better thrust and has high efficiency. The ship is moved independently using sensor objects. The ships that have been built are Neph Ship, Neph Ship Neo, Neph Ship Evo, Neph Ship Zeo, and Neph Ship Nova.
The last one is Roboboat, a Roboboat ship established in 2021, the same as the type of ASV powered by thrusters with a fully automatic control system. The difference is, this ship used more complex system like Navigation System, Avoidance, and still using a sensor object. Ships that been built include Mandakini Neo, Mandakini EVO, Mandakini Catra, and Mandakini Hydra.
