Robotics is an interdisciplinary field focused on the design, development, and operation of robots. This field combines various disciplines, such as computer science, electrical engineering, materials science, and mechanics, to create mechanical systems capable of movement and interaction with their environment. With technological advancements, robotics has become one of the most dynamic and essential fields in the development of modern society.
We collaborated with the school authorities to organize a basic robotics tutorial class. The basic robotics training program at MAN 1 Surakarta is divided into three classes: manufacturing design, electronic PCB design, and programming. Students are free to choose a class according to their interests. This program is conducted over five weeks and includes both theoretical and practical sessions, concluding with an evaluation of the students' level of understanding.

Aquaculture is one of the alternatives to replace capture fisheries, which have been declining due to overfishing practices that damage marine ecosystems. One of the aquaculture commodities with high consumer demand is catfish. However, several challenges are often encountered in catfish farming, such as uncontrolled water quality in ponds, which hinders the growth of the fish.

The Bengawan UV team from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), in partnership with UNS Mechanical Engineering faculty and Karya Mina Utama in Boyolali, Central Java, has developed practical innovations for catfish farming. A key solution is a pest monitoring station using camera-based object detection to identify predators. It sends real-time alerts to farmers’ phones and emits sounds to repel pests, ensuring pond safety and sustainable farming.
